Swimming

10 minutes of swimming = 40 minute brisk walking. Now that’s making a splash!

🏃‍♂️ Big Exercise in Less Time

Just 10 minutes of swimming = 40 minutes of walking or a 3-mile run! It’s an efficient, fun way to burn off energy and stay fit—especially for high-energy breeds or dogs with limited walk time.

⚖️ Helps Manage Weight

Swimming burns calories fast, making it a great tool for weight loss and maintaining a healthy body condition. It supports cardiovascular health and builds lean muscle.

🧠 Boosts Mental Wellbeing

The pool isn’t just for exercise—it's also exciting, stimulating, and enriching. Splashing, chasing toys, and trying something new boosts your dog’s mood and confidence.

🛟 Safe, Supervised, and Fun

Our warm water pool is a controlled, safe environment with trained staff on hand. We use life jackets when needed and tailor every session to your dog’s needs—whether they’re a confident swimmer or just starting out.

Hydrotherapy

In a first consultation for dog hydrotherapy, the goal is to assess your dog's health, mobility, and comfort level to create a safe and tailored treatment plan. Here's what typically happens:

🩺 1. Health & Medical Review

  • A Hydrotherapist will go over your dog’s medical history, vet referral, and any existing injuries, conditions (like arthritis or hip dysplasia), or post-surgery recovery notes.

  • They may ask about your dog’s behaviour, fitness level, and any previous swimming experience.

🐾 2. Physical Assessment

  • The therapist may gently examine your dog’s muscles, joints, and movement—checking for stiffness, weakness, or discomfort.

  • This helps identify areas to focus on during therapy.

🛁 3. Familiarisation With the Environment

  • Your dog is introduced to the hydrotherapy pool gradually.

  • The focus is on helping them feel comfortable with the new surroundings, water, staff, and handling—especially if it’s their first time swimming.

🐶 4. Trial Swim or Controlled Exercise (Optional)

  • If your dog is calm and ready, they may do a short, supervised swim or session in the hydro pool

  • The therapist monitors how they move in water, how comfortable they are, and how their body responds.

📋 5. Plan & Recommendations

  • After the session, the hydrotherapist discusses a treatment plan, including frequency of sessions, goals (e.g., pain relief, strength building), and progress expectations.

🧼 6. Post-Session Dry Off & Care

  • Your dog is dried and kept warm.

  • Any observations or next steps are shared with you.
